Maplewood Rose Celebration

Annually celebrated the 2nd or 3rd weekend of June

The roses are in bloom and a full program of activities awaits visitors at the annual Maplewood Rose Celebration. Held during the peak of the blooming season, the event focuses on the beauty of more than 300 rose varieties (some varieties are over 100 years old) located at the historic Maplewood Rose Garden.

Explore this proud neighborhood, harkening back to the 1850s, during a tour of historic homes. In the rose garden, discover the fun and benefits of gardening from Rochester's top-notch professionals in the "green" industry. Hands-on garden/landscape activities for adults and kids. Two days of horticultural workshops and demonstrations. Tours of the Lower Gorge.

New York State Tree Climbing Championship

Held annually in June

The NYS Tree Climbing Competition is a gathering of the top tree workers in New York who put their tree climbing skills and abilities to the test in a series of competitive events.

2013 has seen our own Brian Krawczyk take the top honors and we are very proud of his accomplishment. Brian is a 4 time winner; and, as with other prior winners from Birchcrest, Jeremy Passinault and Jorge Orbando, the company will be cheering for him as he competes at the International Tree Climbing Championship in August. See our blog of June 27, 2013 for the full story.
